Abstract/摘要👩‍🦱：
Syntactic complexity refers to the range of syntactic structures that are produced and the degree of sophistication of such structures. A large number of measures have been proposed for characterizing the syntactic complexity of first and second language samples. In this talk, I first present the design of the L2 Syntactic Complexity Analyzer (L2SCA), a computational system I developed for automating 14 syntactic complexity measures widely used in L2 writing research. I then discuss how the system has been used in my own research to examine issues related to L2 writing syntactic complexity. Finally, I illustrate how the system has been employed by numerous other researchers for such wide-ranging purposes as automatic essay or speech rating, detection of deception in speech, identification of gender differences in writing style, analysis of natural language in business process models, and assessment of readability and comprehensibility of English texts in diverse domains.

句法復雜度指語言使用中句法結構的多樣性及復雜度。常用的分析一語和二語文本的句法復雜度的指數有很多。二語句法復雜度分析器是一個可自動分析14種在二語寫作研究中廣為使用的句法復雜度指數的計算系統📀。本報告首先介紹該系統的設計及其在二語寫作研究中的應用🤟🏽，繼而討論其在大量其它領域中的應用🤌🏿，包括作文和口語的自動評分，欺騙性語言的自動識別，寫作風格中的性別差異識別，業務流程模型中的自然語言分析，以及不同領域中的英語文本可讀性的自動評估。

陸小飛博士簡介

陸小飛，俄亥俄州立大學語言學博士🔫，現任美國賓州州立大學人文意昂吉爾瓦茨語言與語言學傑出青年教授和應用語言學系副教授⚠️🕵🏼‍♂️，廣東外語外貿大學英文意昂雲山講座教授，在語料庫語言學領域享有較高的國際聲譽🫣，已在國際權威期刊發表學術論文近二十篇，其首部關於語料庫語言學研究方法的專著於2014年由德國施普林格出版社出版♤。
